Thank You to Our Retailers 

 

Lottery Week is a great time to say thanks to the people who get Nebraska Lottery tickets into the hands of our players: our retailers.

There are well over 1,000 retailers across the state of Nebraska and we are thrilled to have them as a part of our business.

In that spirit, we’d like to share a few of our favorite retailer stories from the past year or so. Every retailer has a story, and we’re happy to share them with you.

Let’s start back on April 30 when we came into work with a huge Powerball surprise for us.

In addition to two winners from Indiana and Kansas who split the previous night’s Powerball $143 million jackpot, there were new millionaires minted all around the country. Two of the winners were right here in Nebraska. One at the South 77th Ave. Mega Saver in Omaha and one at Trotter’s Whoa & Go Express IV in Ord.

Powerball officials believe the unusually high number of winners may be due to players picking their numbers in a similar way. The winning numbers drawn on April 29 matched the same pattern as a vertical column of numbers on play slips in multiple states.

We took the opportunity to go out and bring big checks and banners to our Omaha and Ord retailers, who each took home a $10,000 bonus for selling the big winner.

Finally, a big shout out to Russ’s Market at Coddington and West A in Lincoln took it upon themselves to put together some helpful tips (and festive décor) for the Nebraska Lottery players who buy their tickets alongside their groceries.

Our Lottery sales rep Kevin Silvey passed along these shots of Russ’s getting into the Lottery spirit.

A big balloon garland spells out “Powerball” right behind the customer service counter and an entire post is dedicated to the sometimes-confusing Lotto game rules.

They even made a custom poster for our Memorial Day Lotto Special promotion.
